52 Blessings - Family Snack Night

I love my family! We are so close and really enjoy spending time together. Every two weeks we have an evening to spend as an extended family. My Mom and the seven kids, spouses, and grandchildren all have "snack night" or Family Home Evening. We take turns and rotate responsibilities and houses. Tonight my sister Julie (Crazymama) was in charge. She baked about 6 different kinds of homemade cookies! They were heavenly! I just couldn't resist taking pictures of the super-fabuloso treats!

All the adults sat around visiting while the kids played in their backyard park. They have a giant playset, a rocking airplane toy, and a wheel of death! The wheel of death is a heavy duty, playground merry-go-round that the schools and parks have determined are too dangerous to be in public places. Wolfman was the only injury. We heard that he didn't fly off or get crushed under, but it was possible that he got stepped on. There was no blood or broken bones, so some cookies and hugs fixed him right up.

Thanks Joobs, YOU ROCK!!!

first of all love the pic of Sarah in the top corner...is it new or am i totally lame and missed it!?

secondly...i have no idea when the last time that i had any sort of home meade cookie was. i am not a baker. i wish i was, it's just too much science and math for me. i am cook anything...really i can, but baking no so much.

i am super jealous.

i will now go and "break and bake" a dozen frozen dough cookies and eat them all knowing they will never fill the empty void that is my non-home-made-baked-good existance. pathetic. true.

sigh.

i could die at mamarazzi's comment. hilarious. i am totally a break and bake kind of gal too lets' be real.
and of course today is the day i attempt being domestic. OY!

wow you make it sound so much better than it was. of course i never enjoy being the hostess. i'd rather just attend at someone else's house. so they can have the stress. OY!

bummer about wolf man. i assumed he tried to hop off while it was moving, but lacks the skills. everyone lacks the skills for that. it's the smarts that they are usually lacking thinking i want to get off, i'm going to get off now. OUCH! it happens to everyone once. and then they know to SIT DOWN AND HOLD ON for dear life. still one minor injury, and no blood with that many kids and a wheel of death? FABULOUS!
thanks for the pics of the goodies.

I LOVE the Snack Night idea. In fact, I think I might try to convince my family to steal it. Only I will NEVER make 6 batches of cookies if I host. It'll be cheetos and oreos for me!!!

That sound so fun. I can see you guys having a blast. I'm glad wolfman is okay after hearing he was okay I had to chuckle because I had one of those things on my playground growing up and just the thought of it makes sick! I would get stuck on and was to scared to jump off.

Cookies look so yummy and man I miss those wheels of death!

I too think I am going to steal the family snack night get together idea. Wait I don't live near family (trying to insert crying emoticon & only succeeded making one that looks like it has a boog).
