Life Lessons Sure Stink.

Wolfman is still reeling from the lesson he learned this morning.
I asked him to pick up his toys. He said, "I'm too tired. I want YOU to."

I said, "I'd be glad to."

Then I snatched a trash bag and proceeded to pick up the toys, really fast.

In seconds the realization of what he'd asked for hit him. Soon, he was a screaming, hysterical basket case.

I marched the bag outside and locked it into the back of the suburban.

Life lesson #1 - You take care of your own stuff.

He gets to earn his stuff back by doing everything I ask him to this week. As soon as he's asked. And he'll answer, "Ok, Mama, I'd be glad to."

Life lesson #2 - You don't always get what you want. You get what you work for.

Anything else you'd like me to do for you honey?

♥ AWESOME!!! K I need to do that! I've warned the kids that they have this saturday to clean up their rooms and then on Monday when they're at school it's MY TURN!!! Should be interesting! :)

LOVE THIS. You are awesome. My Hubby tried this on my son and was throwing his stuff in the trash and my son was like... "Like I really care... I have more toys that aren't out yet that aren't getting thrown away!" I might try your technique next time!

I think I'm going to have to do this. And the toys that I hate will end up in the trash/donation pile.

I have set a timer when they were dawdling too much. When the timer goes off, I come in with a trash can. It's amazing how fast they can clean their rooms when I pull out a trash can.

I have done that too with Maya. One day, I warned her if she didn't pick up her toys and Gram had to do it, that they would go in the trash. She ignored me and I got a trash bag and began putting toys in it. Came to some new stuff she'd just received for her birthday about 2 weeks earlier and asked if she wanted them in the trash too and she said she didn't care. So I told her "Well, you can kiss these babies good bye then" and into the bag they went. I had the bags on the dining room table for her Mom to see when she got home and at one point, as I was walking by the table, I heard a noise behind me. Turned and looked and there was Maya, leaning in and kissing the garbage bags. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm kissing these babies good bye." Problem here is between both kids, way too many toys to begin with!
